What the Dreamer Sees

The girl had unexpectedly found a light at what seemed to be an endless cavern of soot-covered towers and abandoned canons. Her clothing waved back and forth in the light breeze. She pondered at the edge of the fort, her hands to her chest. All she could see were the beautiful tendrils of exotic trees and the rolling of salt-filled waves beneath her. Beyond the darkness of the rubble and ruin, she saw paradise...and she was glad that for a short while she belonged to it.
